This week I’m doing my blog on the newly released movie, Slumdog Millionaire. Since the movie takes place in India, the views on women are much different than here in the United States. Within the movie, many events can be related to a focus on gender. One particular scene is when some young girls are kidnapped and basically forced to be prostitutes towards men. Along with the main actor following the script I as well thought that this was a horrible way to portray women. It was upsetting to think that things like this might actually be going on in countries like India.
